I’ve been using this SATA Power Module (12V) in a slightly unconventional setup, and it’s been absolutely rock solid.

I’m powering six SSDs using this unit, with input coming from an Acasis dual-bay NVMe enclosure via a USB-C to DC cable. Despite the complexity of that chain, the module has been impressively stable—no dropouts, no inconsistencies, and no signs of power-related issues even under sustained load.

One thing I really appreciate is that it includes dual 1000µF 10V capacitors on the board. That’s a big deal for setups like mine—those capacitors help smooth out voltage fluctuations, absorb transient spikes, and provide a bit of hold-up during sudden load changes. In practice, that means cleaner, more stable power delivery to the SSDs, which directly translates to better reliability and reduced risk of drive instability or data issues.

On top of that, the overall build quality is excellent. It feels well-engineered, cleanly designed, and clearly made with reliability in mind. The output is consistent and dependable, which is exactly what you want when you're dealing with storage.

It’s rare to find a component that just works without needing any babysitting, but this is one of those. Quietly does its job and does it well.

I attempted to use this for my home NAS, I ordered this and a compatible power supply from a reputable brand to clean up my drive power delivery. When I turned on the PDU for the NAS, the board sparked at the power connector splitter on the board and after the smoke my heart sank. The board died and took my 4 WD black 8TB drives with it along with one of my SSD’s. One SSD survived with the OS on it but it fried the PCBs of all of my drives. Thankfully this is just a media server but in 2026, losing those drives is going to hurt to replace back to full capacity. I reached out to support right after the incident but have not heard back as of writing. I don’t know if I’m comfortable using this product even if a replacement is offered after losing these drives, with the cost of drives going through the roof, I paid $600 for 2 10TB to get the server back up but I lost capacity due to this board. If another does get offered, I’ll be using my multimeter extensively before a drive ever touches it.
