Introduction


The TOFSense-M S is a compact 4 m laser-ranging radar that brings industrial-grade precision to consumer electronics, robotics and UAV projects. Using true Time-of-Flight (TOF) technology, it emits invisible 940 nm light and calculates nanosecond-level return times to deliver distance data with millimetre accuracy. A built-in 8×8 SPAD array outputs 64 simultaneous measurements at 30 Hz, giving robots and drones a clear depth map for obstacle avoidance, terrain following or 3-D reconstruction.
Power is simple: 3.7–5.2 V via UART, CAN or I/O pins—just wire TX/RX and start streaming data at 921 600 baud. The anodised aluminium case is IP66-rated and survives industrial wash-downs or outdoor UAV flights from -20 °C to 65 °C. At only 290 mW draw, it is the lowest-power TOF sensor in its class, extending flight time or battery cycle life in AGVs and IoT gateways.
